Frequently Asked Questions

Our goal is to provide the best dog care services available and to ensure the health and safety of all our guests.

Acceptance We reserve the right not to accept any dog deemed to be aggressive, unhealthy or problematic for any reason for any service at River Dog Inn at the sole discretion of River Dog Inn.

Age/Puppies Puppies must complete all their puppy vaccinations prior to receiving service. All vaccinations are normally completed by four months of age.

Boarding Drop-off Time You may drop off anytime the lobby is open. However, your dog will integrate better into a playgroup and rest more soundly the earlier you drop him/her off. We require a free daycare visit prior to boarding to help your dog feel more comfortable when it is time to board.

Pick-up Time You may pick-up anytime during our regular hours.

What to Bring Our goal is for your pup’s stay to be comfortable and fun. Bring whatever it takes to make him/her happy and secure. We provide a raised Kuranda bed. Your dog’s bed, toys, blankets, etc. are allowed as long as you are comfortable leaving them with your dog in a suite or kennel and assume the risk that something you leave could be hazardous to your pup’s health or well-being. No rawhide is permitted. All dogs should wear a quick release collar with i.d. attached. We recommend bringing your dog’s regular food to avoid digestive distress.

Cancellation Policy Boarding over or close to any holiday or busy period (spring and fall breaks) requires a $50 deposit. To receive a refund of your deposit during these periods, the reservation must be canceled 3 days in advance.

Daycare Evaluations Evaluations are used to determine whether a dog is daycare ready and non-aggressive toward other dogs and staff.  Every owner must complete a daycare application and every dog must pass the daycare evaluation prior to attending daycare. Whether a dog is accepted is solely determined by River Dog Inn. All dogs should wear a quick release collar with i.d. attached. We reserve the right not to accept any dog deemed to be aggressive, unhealthy or problematic for any reason for any service at River Dog Inn.

Food We recommend bringing your dog’s regular food for boarding or if they need a meal during daycare. Switching foods abruptly may cause digestive distress.

Hours Daycare hours are Monday-Friday 6:15 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Our lobby is open on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. On Sunday, the lobby is open 4-6 p.m. We are closed the following holidays:  New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Boarding is available over the holidays, but the lobby will be closed.

Medication Topical or oral medication will be administered according to the schedule you provide. We cannot provide injections.

Registration The New Client Registration forms must be completed prior to any service. Daycare applicants must complete the daycare application.

Spay/neuter requirements Dogs must be spayed or neutered if 12 months or older to attend daycare or board. Intact males are accepted for grooming. Intact females are accepted for grooming if not in heat.

Vaccinations All pups must be current on Rabies, Bordetella and Distemper/Parvo (DHLPP or equivalent) vaccinations. Bordetella is required every six months. Also, we require the Canine Flu vaccinations (2 shot series). Proof of vaccinations is required from your vet. You or your vet may email the record to riverdoginn@gmail.com or bring it to River Dog Inn at the time of service. All dogs must be on a flea/tick preventative and heart-worm preventative.
